What happened this weekend? This is what happened this weekend. Someone in the small town of Jennings, Louisiana decided to go through Greenwood Cemetery and Doucet Cemetery and vandalize it. Vulgar language was spray painted on tombstones, flowers were demolished, litter everywhere, and graves were broken. The physical damage can be cleaned up, but what was left will forever hurt. I don’t know what was going through this person’s (or people’s, I’m guessing due to the extent of the damage) mind when they did it, but I know what’s going through the affected families’ minds. “How can someone be so cruel to demolish something as sacred as my loved one’s final resting place?” The police are investigating, but they have no evidence or leads so it’s highly unlikely that they’ll find this person.
Notice that the headstone on the left belongs to an air force veteran from WWII. That man fought for our freedom and someone couldn’t even respect him enough to leave his grave alone.
Some people make me sick.
